Lake Superior Biathlon

Junior and Senior Ski Development Programs – ages 14 and older

 

Lappe Nordic Ski Club and the Lake Superior Biathlon club have collaborated to offer cross country ski training for biathletes. Lappe offers two junior and one senior program option.

 

Junior Biathlon Ski Development: The Junior Biathlon Ski Development program provide skill development, competitive, recreational and leadership opportunities in cross country skiing. Training sessions are combined with the Lappe Junior Teams and include skate and classic skiing. Recreational and leadership opportunities are also included in the program. Skiers can choose to train year round or focus on skiing during the fall-winter seasons.

  

Junior Biathlon: This year round training program promotes healthy participation in competitive sport through consistent and progressive training, appropriate competition schedules, “Fairplay” and teamwork. Athletes are encouraged to attend group practices regularly and to independently complete further training. Training sessions are combined with the Lappe Junior Teams and include skate and classic skiing. Recreational and leadership opportunities are also included in the program.

 

Senior Biathlon: This year round training program promotes healthy participation in competitive sport through consistent and progressive training. Team and individual competition schedules may include local races, loppets, provincial and national competitions in biathlon and cross country skiing. Training sessions are combined with the Lappe Junior  and Senior Teams and include skate and classic skiing. Athletes are provided individualized training plans.
